Type Plate
This project focuses on organizing a variety of different typefaces on a 5x5 grid to illustrate how different typefaces can interact with one another. The goal was to edit them as little as possible, and instead manipulate the scale and orientation of the found type specimens to naturally flow into each other while maintaining a grid structure. A part of graphic deisgn is flexibility, which includes adapting to the tools you have at your disposal. In this case, the tools were found typefaces—alluding to the field's long practice of photomontage and collage.
